Fantasy Weapon of the Week

Hello Readers,

You may be fooled into thinking this week’s weapon is not actually a weapon, and technically you would be correct. However, the Aegis of the Eternal Dawn is more than just a shield. This magical item was crafted in a partnership between the elves and the dwarves, and it packs a powerful punch, driving back its attackers with a force to match the blow that struck it. Truly a thing of beauty with the power to protect the most worthy of warriors.

A fantasy illustration of a shining shield of silver and gold, standing upright and sparkling atop a stone block. The shield is framed beneath an ancient archway in a forest.

A Quote from my Tales

Hello Readers,

Here is one for the dark fantasy fan. A quote taken from the short story ‘Blood and Fear’.

A black and white image depicting a Gypsy-like high priestess within a dark fantasy/horror landscape. The quote 'By the Goddess." sits above the high priestess in a bone white font.

Feel free to leave your favourite quote in the comments, either from one of my books or from another fantasy/horror author.

What If Your City Turned Dark Fantasy?

Hello Readers,

In this week’s ‘Dark City’ series post, I bring to you my dark fantasy re-imagining of… San Francisco!

San Francisco depicted as a dark fantasy city. Glyphs glow from the building beneath a blood red moon, and the streets are filled with people being watched by creatures all around. The Golden Gate bridge spans the river in the background, between the peaks of the Ferry Building Clock Tower and the Transamerica Pyramid.

I’ve never been to this city, but if I had to step into this dark fantasy version of San Francisco, I’d have to ask myself these questions:

When the Crimson Tide rolls beneath the Golden Gate, which forbidden sigils flare up, and what drowned spirits awaken in the mist?

How many spectral ferries glide across the bay, their lanterns burning with souls who never reached the shore?

Beneath the Transamerica Pyramid, what ancient mechanism ticks toward an apocalypse only the sigils can delay?

When the fog turns violet, whose whispers echo through the alleys of Chinatown, and what bargains are struck in the mist?

What creatures perch upon the painted ladies, their wings dripping moonlight, and what are they waiting for?

Which clock tower tolls thirteen times at midnight, and what spirits answer its call from beneath the tracks of the cable‑cars?

What tribute must the ferrymen offer at Pier 39 to keep the tentacled thing beneath the waters from rising again?

I’ll be back again next week with another dark city for you to ponder over.

Until then…

Fantasy Weapon of the Week

Hello Readers,

The next of the blessed weapons was designed by the elves of the Ancient Forest and forged by the dwarven mages in the bowels of the Dragon-tooth Mountains. Aptly named ‘Demonbreaker’, it is a Warhammer for the darkest of creatures to be wary of.

A golden and silver Warhammer stands upright on a stone block beneath a decorative archway in a fantasy forest.

What If Your City Turned Dark Fantasy?

Hello Readers,

The next city to undergo a dark fantasy transformation is… Quebec!

I love Quebec, but the thought of living in a dark fantasy version of this old city sends shivers down my spine.

Here are some questions to mull over, but don’t spend too long pondering these questions, for I fear you may get sucked in to this world… never to return!

When the Blood Moon rises above Château Frontenac, which runes flare to life, and what evil beings do they offer protection from?

What spectral ferrymen drift across the St Lawrence River, and what is the price of the toll they demand for passage through the mist?

Beneath the cobblestones of Old Quebec, what ancient machinery hums unseen, binding the city to an eternal winter? And why… does the cold hold something monstrous at bay?

When the aurora bleeds crimson and green, do the cathedral bells toll for the living—or for those who never left?

What creatures of shadow and ice prowl the narrow alleys of Petit‑Champlain, whispering names that no mortal should remember?

Which statues turn their heads at midnight, and what do they watch for beyond the walls of the Citadel?

Come back next week to find out which city is destined to follow Quebec into the gloomy shadows of dark fantasy.

Happy Reading.

What If Your City Turned Dark Fantasy?

Hello Readers,

Welcome back for the next post in my ‘Dark City’ series. This week’s city re-imagined in a dark fantasy setting is none other than… Adelaide!

A dark fantasy interpretation of Adelaide City. The town hall and city towers glow with sigils beneath a full moon. A serpentine beast writhes through the stormy night sky above the cathedral, and the eyes of mysterious creatures glow from the buildings and the river banks.

And here are a few questions for you to consider while you examine this dark interpretation of the city.

What creatures prowl the arcades of Rundle Mall after midnight, feeding on the flicker of neon and forgotten prayers?

Beneath the cathedral spires, what ancient covenant binds the clergy to the spirits that haunt the bells?

When the stormlight turns violet, do the runes on the Town Hall clock mark the hour of reckoning or the opening of a gate?

Which lanterns burn with souls instead of flame along North Terrace, and who dares to light them?

When dawn breaks over the hills, why does the light refuse to touch certain streets… what dark memories still linger there, half‑alive?

Ponder these questions while you enjoy this deliciously dark Adelaide cityscape.

Which city will fall into the darkness next? You’ll have to come back next week if you wish to find out.

Until then,

Fantasy Weapon of the Week.

You’ll want to feast on the vision of this evil item and fantasy weapon of the week. Sixth in the series of concept art images taken from my collection of cursed weapons forged by a dark lord. This week’s weapon; a halberd of doom. Take care not to fall beneath its shadow, for its thirst for blood is insatiable.

A dark fantasy style halberd lying on a cracked stone floor. The long, dark metal blades curve down on either side like angels wings. But this is no holy about this cursed weapon. Evil runes glow red on the side of each blade and a skull sits in the centre, capped by a long spike. A caption reads 'A harbinger of doom. A bringer of death. Hungers eternally for blood’.

What would you name this weapon?
